The premise
Public systems should create opportunity, not reproduce scarcity.
Who I am
I was born and raised in Yauco, Puerto Rico, and grew up between there and Chicago. I graduated from Roberto Clemente Community Academy, started college at Wilbur Wright College, and became the first in my family to earn a degree. My son now attends a Chicago public school.
More than fifteen years later, my work spans corporate, public-sector, nonprofit, and higher education rooms. At Cisco I advise leaders on workforce strategy, leadership effectiveness, and organizational culture — including Horizon, an inclusive leadership framework for the AI era. On the Chicago Board of Education I help govern the district that educated me. The through line is simple. I read the data the way I do because I lived on the wrong side of it.
